World Water Day Celebration And How Water Tanks Could Also Help In Conserving Water

The average American neither sees nor appreciates water tanks primarily because there is sufficient supply of water in developed countries. A natural resource like water is so essential but few only understand this. Nations that are not so rich would probably desire a water tank so that they could have a good supply of water for their needs.

Through World Water Day, people would remember water as a vital natural resource. March 22 marks the date of internation water appreciation and it was set by the United Nations General Assembly. In the year 1993, this was established.

In this occasion, the United Nations requests all people to not turn on their faucets to be able to conserve water. For all countries to get involved, UN thinks of a certain theme each event. For example, the theme is water and how it affects our world.

Various agencies in various countries are present to help the UN in their celebration in conserving water. The mission of such groups is to have people and the government give support in fighting against the ruin of aquatic life and for the conservation of water. Starting in 1997, the World Water Forum has participated in whatever the World Water Council has conducted.

One of the most important issues highlighted in the forum is the fact that until today, billions of people around the world do not have access to clean and safe water. Safe water is something that all should have and it is very sad that those in first world countries just don’t care about it. Since that is the case, what the Council did is to have a yearly report about how the water is in a specific country.

For the past years, the themes were “Water for Cities: Responding to the Urban Challenge” (2011), “Clean Water for a Healthy World” (2010), “Transboundary Waters” (2009), “Sanitation” (2008), “Coping With Water Scarcity” (2007), “Water and Culture” (2006), “Water for Life” (2005), “Water and Disasters” (2004), “Water for Future” (2003), “Water for Development” (2002), and “Water for Health” (2001). In making the theme, it must be socially relevant and must be really be thought about. From them, important messages and reports were circulated among governments and different agencies such as the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO), and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), among many others.

The water tank business is very simple but it does great wonders. Building water cisterns makes us able to preserve clean and potable water. In terms of irrigation and agriculture, the use of water tanks proves to be beneficial.

Back when civilization was still growing, early humans has already started building a water tank. The first time that man built a home was near a river. There was a time that early humans needed to live on land far from the lakes and rivers and that is why they had to make earthen tanks and storage tanks.

Water storage facilities are still prevalent in the US and there are companies that make them. Water tanks that are elevated are the ones that are widely used. Elevated water storage makes a force that can push water to the community and various other places.

Water tanks also serve industrial purposes. Water tanks are mostly used for agriculture and farming purposes. We could say that the water tank industry is very modest but for them it is really essential that water must be saved and our planet too.
